Meet Our Team

Alyssa – Lead Dental Assistant
Alyssa joined our team in April 2016, and she brings a positive attitude to work every day. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech in May 2015, and she received her certification from the Dental Assisting National Board. As a dental assistant, Alyssa enjoys facing the everyday challenges that help her grow both as a person and a dental assistant. Alyssa and her son recently moved to Canton and have been enjoying what the community has to offer. When she is not at work, Alyssa likes shopping, taking her dog, Pickles, on walks, and spending time with her family.

Ashley — Dental Hygienist
Ashley joined our team in June of 2020. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelors of Science degree in dental hygiene. She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with her family. To Ashley, her favorite part about working at Canton Dental Clinic is the family environment and working as part of a team.

Ashley is getting married to Brady in September of 2021. He owns The Yard Barbers, a lawn care company in Sioux Falls with his twin brother. Fun fact: Ashley is also a twin. Ashley and Brady currently live in Sioux Falls and share a Goldendoodle together, Marlie. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing anything outdoors and spoiling all of her nieces and nephews.

Bridgette — Dental Assistant
Bridgette is one of our trusted and skilled dental assistants, and she has been with Canton Dental Clinic since 2014. She is a valuable asset to our practice and helps keep everything running smoothly. Bridgette is married to her husband, Tyler, and they have two kids, Sloane and Cooper, and two dogs, Stella and Millie. When she is not at work, Bridgette enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Connie — Registered Dental Hygienist
Connie is one of our long-term team members, having joined the team in May 1994. She loves being part of a team that has fun together and provides a family-like atmosphere for patients. Connie loves what she does and is always happy to help out wherever she is needed, and she does so with a positive attitude.

Connie is married to Jeff, and together, they have three boys. Jeff is a crop farmer and runs a Black Angus cow and calf and feedlot operation. Jacob, the oldest son, farms with his dad. He also has degrees in powerline and electrician but loves the farmer life. Vaughn loves being a traveling RN. He will be returning to the area to obtain his CRNA license. He is excited to continue to grow in the healthcare field. Eli will be attending Lake Area Tech in Watertown. His major will be Farm Management and Animal Science. He is excited to work on the farm with his brother and dad.

When not at work, Connie loves socializing with friends and family. She is also a self- proclaimed “gate opener” and “gopher girl” on the farm.

Gwen – Office Manager
Gwen has worked in the dental field for 18 years but has been an office manager at Canton Dental Clinic since May of 2020. She loves working with patients and her co-workers. Her and her husband, Chad, live in Inwood, Iowa. They have three children: Cullen, who is grown and lives on his own, Wyatt and Katelyn at home. When not at work, Gwen enjoys going to her daughter’s sporting events, watching her husband tractor pull, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jody — Receptionist
Jody has been with the Canton Dental Clinic since November of 2021. Likely, when you call the clinic, Jody will be the first one with whom you will speak. As a Treatment Coordinator, her favorite part of her job is interacting with the patients and making sure they feel comfortable and confident in all aspects of their dental visit-from scheduling to any questions about their treatment. She feels grateful to be a part of such a close-knit community. Jody also loves the integrity and kindness with which the clinic operates with and values the camaraderie of her co-workers.

Jody lives with her husband, Brent, in Canton. Between them they have 5 grown children spread out between Minnesota and Texas. When not at work, Jody loves going to the gym, reading books, traveling, being outdoors (in the sunshine and water!) and doing home DIY projects with her husband. Her favorite thing in the whole world is chocolate.

Marie – Certified Dental Assistant
Marie became part of the Canton Dental team in September 2019. Born and raised in Michigan, Marie graduated from Grand Rapids Community College with her dental assisting degree and certification from the Dental Assisting National Board. She previously worked in Sioux Falls for eight years before joining our team. Marie especially loves working with orthodontic cases to provide patients with a beautiful smile. Marie and her husband, Andrew, have three kids and live on a farm in Northwest Iowa.

Missy — Dental Assistant
Missy has been a part of our team at Canton Dental Clinic since 1999. She was trained as a chairside dental assistant by Dr. Schulte. Missy likes the overall family feel that is in our office, as well as the compassion and care that everyone shows towards our patients. In addition, Missy enjoys learning new things every day, including how she can improve patient care. Missy and her husband, Pat, have one daughter, Mikayla. When she is not at work, Missy enjoys lunch dates with Mikayla, who graduated high school in 2020 and just finished her first year at STI. She also enjoys going to the farmer’s market in the summer as well as visiting and caring for her nephews and niece.

Kennedi — Dental Assistant
Kennedi has been a part of the Canton Dental Clinic team since spring of 2023. She is currently a student at South Dakota State University studying Pre-Dental, with hopes of becoming a dentist. Kennedi loves being a part of the team and appreciates our close-knit crew, helping us give our patients the best care possible. When she is not studying, Kennedi enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as anything outdoors such as the lake, camping, and water sports. She also has a black lab named Hank who keeps her on her toes everywhere in between!

Shanna — Registered Dental Hygienist
Shanna graduated from dental assisting at LATI in 2002. She went on to the dental hygiene program at USD, and graduated in May 2007. After graduating, she worked in Sioux Falls area for three years, which led her to joining our team at Canton Dental Clinic in 2010. To her, the best part of working at our clinic is working in a warm, friendly environment. Shanna and her husband, Neil, have three wonderful children. As a mom, she enjoys watching her daughter in ballet and sons in playing football, baseball and basketball. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Shannon — Receptionist
Shannon joined Canton Dental Clinic in May 1990 with a certification in dental assisting. She has enjoyed her years at the clinic as they evolved in the dental world, from being an assistant to a receptionist. Shannon most enjoys traveling adventures with her husband, Seth, being home cozy with her Labrador, Lucy, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Steph — Registered Dental Hygienist
Steph originally joined our practice in 2000, and she stayed with us until 2009, when she moved to Idaho for two years. She returned to the Canton area and has been with our practice since 2011. Steph graduated from USD in 2000. She enjoys being part of a team that is full of caring people and provides high-quality dentistry. She does her part by keeping a positive attitude and doing her best to care for her patients. Steph has four children and four grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys boating, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Zona — Lead Dental Hygienist
Zona joined the Canton Dental Clinic team in August 2021. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with her Bachelors of Science degree and also completed an Executive Masters in Public Administration. She is currently obtaining her certificate in Orofacial Myotherapy. She continues to hold her National Emergency Medical Technician certificate. Zona is a retired member and veteran of the South Dakota Air National Guard with twenty three years of service. She grew up in Canton and currently has a home in Sioux Falls. Zona appreciates being part of a professional knowledgeable team to continue exceptional family centered care to the surrounding communities.

Zona is married to Tracy who also is a retired member and veteran of the South Dakota Air National Guard with thirty-four years of service. Tracy and Zona farm with his parents in Springfield, SD doing alfalfa, row crops, cow and calf operation. Zona and Tracy have three black labs and both enjoy being active in Legion Post and Pheasant Forever organizations and outdoor activities of pheasant and other hunting, boating, UTVing, and snowmobiling with friends and family.
