Alyssa – Certified Dental Assistant
Alyssa joined our team in April 2016, and she brings a positive attitude to work every day. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech in May 2015, and she received her certification from the Dental Assisting National Board. As a dental assistant, Alyssa enjoys facing the everyday challenges that help her grow both as a person and a dental assistant. Alyssa was married in July 2016, and she and her husband started their family in September 2017. When she is not at work, Alyssa likes shopping, taking her dogs on walks, and spending time with her family.
Amanda – Dental Assistant
Amanda has been with Canton Dental Clinic since December 2016, but she has been practicing with Dr. Freed for a year before transitioning from Sioux Falls. She graduated from Colorado Technical University with the highest honors. She has an Associate of Science degree in medical assisting, and she was in the healthcare field for seven years before switching to dentistry. Amanda also has a license in dental radiology. Amanda is a hard worker, and she is quick and passionate about her job, which she believes helps patients feel more confident in her abilities and in the practice. Amanda is fluent in Spanish, which enables our Latino patients to receive excellent dental care, and helps our practice grow.
Amanda loves working with a team that is dedicated to ensuring that each patient has a wonderful experience and receives the best treatment possible. During college, Amanda never imagined herself working in the dental field, but she is happy to say that thanks to Dr. Freed, this has been the best career choice she has made. She cannot wait to see what the future holds for Canton Dental Clinic .
Bridgette – Dental Assistant
Bridgette is one of our trusted and skilled dental assistants, and she has been with Canton Dental Clinic since 2014. She is a valuable asset to our practice and helps keep everything running smoothly. Bridgette is married to her husband, Tyler, and they have one daughter, Sloane and one dog, Stella. When she is not at work, Bridgette enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Connie – Registered Dental Hygienist
Connie is one of our long-term team members, having joined our team in May 1994. She loves being part of a team that has fun together and provides a family-like atmosphere for patients. Connie loves what she does, and she is always happy to help out wherever she is needed, and she does so with a positive attitude.
Connie’s husband, Jeff, is a farmer who works with beef and crop production. Their oldest son, Jacob, is an electrician and powerline man who also loves to farm. Their next son, Vaughn, is a junior at NW College in Orange City, Iowa. There, he is playing football and earning his degree to be a Registered Nurse, after which he will work on getting his CRNA license. Connie’s third son, Eli, is a freshman in high school who loves sports, hunting, and farming. Finally, there is the family rhodesian ridgeback, Schatzi. When Connie is not at work, she enjoys reading, helping out on the farm, playing with Schatzi, and buying things from Amazon.
Danielle – Registered Dental Assistant
Danielle moved to the Canton area in February 2017, which is when she joined our team at Canton Dental Clinic ; however, she has been working with Dr. Freed since 2014. She received her associate’s degree in dental assisting from Lake Area Tech in Watertown, South Dakota. Danielle is a very go-with-the-flow person, which makes it possible for her to help out in both the front office and the back, which is very rewarding for her. Danielle particularly loves the small-town feel that Canton brings, and she loves getting to know her patients on a personal level. Danielle is the proud mom of two dogs and a cat.
Darcy – Certified Dental Assistant, Receptionist
Darcy has been with Canton Dental Clinic since 1997, and she loves it. In 2003, she received her National Dental Assisting License. To Darcy, the best part about Canton Dental Clinic is the patients and their families; she loves that she has been able to develop relationships with them over the years. Darcy and her husband, Ross, have two daughters and one son, as well as a black lab named Bear. Their daughter, Bridgette, who also works at Canton Dental Clinic , is married to Tyler, and they have one daughter, Sloane. Their son, Brett, is married to Kaylee, and their youngest daughter’s name is Brooklyn. When she is not at work, Darcy enjoys camping with the family, going ice fishing, and attending her daughter’s activities.
Missy – Dental Assistant
Missy has been a part of our team at Canton Dental Clinic since 1999. She was trained as a chairside dental assistant by Dr. Schulte. Missy likes the overall family feel that is in our office, as well as the compassion and care that everyone shows towards our patients. In addition, Missy enjoys learning new things every day as to how she can improve patient care. Missy and her husband, Pat, have one daughter, Mikayla. When she is not at work, Missy enjoys watching Mikayla at her school activities, going to the farmer’s market in the summer, and visiting and caring for her nephews and niece.
Shanna – Registered Dental Hygienist
Shanna graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in dental hygiene. She also graduated from the dental assisting program at Lake Area Technical Institute in 2002. When she acquired her associate’s degree in dental assisting in 2004, she realized that she wanted to expand her professional skills in dental hygiene. In 2005, she entered the dental hygiene program at USD with great enthusiasm, and she graduated in May 2007. After graduating, she worked in the Sioux Falls area for three years, which led to her career at Canton Dental Clinic since 2010. To her, the best part about working at our practice is the warm, friendly environment.
Shanna grew up in Watertown, South Dakota, and she currently lives in the NW Iowa area. She is married with three wonderful children that keep her busy with all of their activities. As a mom, Shanna enjoys watching her children in ballet, football, basketball, baseball, and all other activities. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Shannon – Clerical
Shannon joined our team at Canton Dental Clinic back in May 1990. She received her dental assisting degree from Lake Area Tech in Watertown, South Dakota. She loves that she gets to work with so many great people. Shannon and her husband, Seth, have two kids. Their daughter, Ellen, is married to Gordon, and they have three kids: Ember, Moses, and Ransom. Their son, Noah, is married to Ajla. Shannon also is the mother to a fur baby, Lucy. When she is not at work, Shannon enjoys reading, baking, and traveling with her husband.
Steph – Registered Dental Hygienist
Steph originally joined our practice in 2000, and she stayed with us until 2009, when she moved to Idaho for two years. She returned to the Canton area and has been with our practice since 2011. Steph graduated from USD in 2000. She enjoys being part of a team that is full of caring people and provides high-quality dentistry. She does her part by keeping a positive attitude and doing her best to care for her patients. Steph has four children and four grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys boating, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tami – Receptionist
Tami became a part of our team in 1982. With over 30 years in the same dental practice, she has really come to know our patients and their families, and she considers them part of her own family. Her loyalty to Canton Dental Clinic runs deep. Tami is the mother of three grown sons, and she has one grandson. When she is not at work, she enjoys gardening, canning, fishing, camping, and crafting.
